Where was your best holiday ever, and what made it so special?

Ok since no-one is going to start off this topic, I may as well! I have to admit I live for my holidays. It's really the only thing that gets me through the stress of actually having to be at work every day, just the thought of it all being worth it when I can spend my hard-earned pennies on a break away. I haven't really travelled much, as I never really had the opportunity to go on holidays until I met my husband (nobody to go with! ), but there are so many places I want to see. I am a typical Saggittarius - I have very itchy feet! Not really sure about my best holiday - I'd say my honeymoon because we went on a cruise and it was something I'd always wanted to do and really loved it, but my husband didn't like it at all which kinda spoiled things when I had a grumpy hubby to deal with! Last month I went to London for 3 days on my own, which was an amazing experience. My husband had just started a new job so we had to change our summer holiday plans, so I toyed with the idea for a few weeks of going away myself and finally did it. I'm really proud of myself for doing it, as even a year ago I could never have done something like that!! Yay for me!! ;D So in a sense that was my best holiday because it was a real achievement for me!

Well done for you for going away on your own. I'd end up getting lost or something stupid like that if i went away on my own. Hope that you saw loads of sights when you were there. My favourite holiday was my holiday to madeira. Should of happened about 4 years ago but only went last year as at first my wee boy ended up with broken leg so couldn't fly, then my hubby ended up in hospital and then my wee boy ended up in hopsital again. Then again i always like going to Blackpool or torquay as have friends and family there and always cool. I fancy Australia one day. Roll on my lottery win.

I'd end up getting lost or something stupid like that if i went away on my own. I did!!! ;D I even got lost inside the Trocadero centre - took the escalator up to the top floor and couldn't find the stairs back down! I was starting to panic!! Poor you, sounds like you've not had much luck. As long as everybody is ok now, that's the main thing, and you got your holiday in the end! I absolutely love Blackpool, it's one of my favourite places. I went there every summer in the caravan when I was a kid, so it has lots of memories for me. I love going down even just for a day out now and then.

At least i am not the only one that gets lost on my own. I am like that with Blackpool too. Going there in three weeks so looking forward to that. Plus the wee man loves it too and wants to move there when a big boy so if does then that would be good although not sure if he will be happy if i visit him every week.

Well I'd never been abroad (apart from a college trip many, many moons ago) until I met hubby. There are loads of nice places in the UK though. I'd like to do a proper road trip at some point and visit all the places I've never been.
