Anybody up to anything for Halloween? I was carving a pumpkin yesterday to take a picture of for my photography course. First time I've ever actually made one - was quite pleased with it, although one of it's teeth fell off so it's mouth looks a bit strange! Here it is, minus a tooth:-

Very nice pumpkin. Me and the wee man are going to be doing one tomorrow night. Glad its easy to do as i am not artist. I bought a pumpkin carving kit so hopefully that helps. Your pumpkin is good. Don't think ours will be as good.

It was easier than I thought. Did mine with a pumpkin carving kit. Did you get it at Tesco? The little knife is good for doing the features although I buckled it cutting into the top to do the lid!

Got my carving kit from asda. Used a kitchen knife to cut the top off as the wee knife wasn't that good. Ours looks a bit demented compared to your pumpkin. Big tip to anyone. Don't stick a strawberry scented tea light in it as strawberry and pumkin are not a good mix.

Haha Just had a look at that website - some of the patterns are really intricate! There are native american indians and allsorts!! Puts mine to shame! Well Jack has now been laid to rest. Quite a shame really that you have to bin them and can't just keep them for next year. As a kid I never really liked making snowmen because it made me sad when they melted! Would be good to see more of you on the forum rumbletum - please feel free to start new discussions!

I can imagine the smell would have been quite sickly! I can't stand the smell of pumpkin as it is - was just about gagging as I was scooping the insides out!

The easiest way to post a pic is if you use a web based photo hosting site, or even facebook or something like that. If a pic is already on the web then you essentially just link to it - if you click on the icon that looks like a photo (just above the sad face smiley) and put the link in between the tags:- E.g. - [ img ] http://www.......... [ /img ] <------- The pic would then appear in place of this. You can also upload a pic from your computer by adding as an attachment using the box under the subject box, like I have done with the pumpkin below. Hope this makes sense. Give it a go!! It's the box underneath the subject box - if you click on 'browse' it will open a window, then you just find the image you want and click on 'open' which will add it to the message.

I can't see the word browse anywhere. Is the subject box the white box i am writing in? I get my new specs tomorrow so will try again and i'll probably see it straight away. [/img]

The subject box is the very first white box, then beneath it is the attachment box.

I've always loved Halloween since I was a wee girl. Your pumpkin looked fabby goldengirl. I think the reason why he has a tooth missing is because he has been eating too many sweety's from trick or treating,
